Well, since my last post, I have lost another one of my parakeets. We do not know how this one died. He was nine months old at his death.

My remaining bird, Salty, is devestated. He is lonely and depressed.

However, in a few months I will be getting the bird I have wanted for a long time: A Green-Cheek Conure.

If you were to look one up on google (go on, I know you want to) you would think that I’m insane for wanting such an ugly bird. But in reality Green-Cheeks are not ugly in the slightest. They are beautiful, sweet, and very cute. I hope to aquire my bird in the next few months.

I’m getting a screen door in my room so that the evil dog can’t get in and ravage this new bird, or my one remaining parakeet, and also so that the birds cannot get out. It should be coming in tomorrow while I’m at school.

This has been one of the worst weeks of my life.

I returned home from vacation on Monday afternoon. I’d had a relatively good time, but was happy to return home.

However, on Tuesday night, when I was just finishing up my homework, I walk into the living room to discover that my beloved parakeet has been killed by my dog.

I was heartbroken. My parakeet was a key part of my life for five years. I really, really miss him.

Rest in peace, birde, rest in peace. I miss you so much.

On a happier note, I have taken up sewing. I’m really not very good at it yet, but I don’t want to give it up yet. I’ll put up my progress later.

These are my absolute favorite books in the world. I suggest that you read them if you have the chance.

 1. The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud (The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem’s Eye, Ptolemy’s Gate)

-My absolute favorite series. All three books are out. They are witty, creative, and entertaining. I highly suggest them. Set in modern day London, narrated from the perspectives of Bartimaeus, Nathaniel, and, for the later books, Kitty.

 2. A Great and Terrible Beauty/Rebel Angels by Libba Bray

-A very good trilogy (the third book is coming out late this year or early next year). Set in Victorian England, they are narrated in 1st person. It’s a bit hard to get used to, but once you’ve gotten a few chapters in it’s a very enjoyable read. WARNING! This is a relatively girly book. I don’t think most boys would like these books.

 3. Twilight and New Moon by Stephanie Meyer.

-These books are moderate in quality, but I love them because I am a mirror image of the main character Bella. We are extremely similar. They are about Vampires, which are a bit of an obsession of mine. Narrated in first person by Bella Swan, set in Forks, Washington.

 4. The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl, The Actic Incident, The Eternity Code, and The Opal Deception)

-Very entertaining books, I’ve been reading them for years now. If I am not mistaken, the fifth book Lost Colony is coming out September 12th. I have high hopes for that book. They are set in Ireland, as well as a few scattered locations across the globe.

5. The Warrior Series by Erin Hunter (who is actually Kate Cary and Cherith Baldry. They take turns writing the books). (Includes Into the Wild, Fire and Ice, Forest of Secrets, Rising Storm, Dangerous Path, Darkest Hour, Midnight, Moonrise, Dawn, Starlight, and Twilight)

-A very sweet series about cats who run around in a forest hunting rabbits and the like. It sounds really lame, but I love them. The hardcover books are quite pricey, so I suggst either waiting for the paperbacks or renting them from the library. The first series (Into the Wild – Darkest Hour) is much better than the second series (Midnight – Twilight). Twilight was a total disapointment. The last book in the second seires, Sunset, is due to come out sometime this year.

My Favorite Audiobooks:
1. Harry Potter (American Edition) read by Jim Dale, written by J.K. Rowling

2. Eragon, read by Gerard Doyle, written by Christopher Paolini

3. The Bartimaeus Trilogy, read by Simon Jones, written by Jonathan Stroud

4. Heir Apparent, read by Carine Montbertraund, written by Vivian Vande Velde

5. Twilight, read by Ilyana Kadushin, written by Stephanie Meyer

6. A Great and Terrible Beauty, read by Josephine Bailey, written by Libba Bray

7. Artemis Fowl- The Opal Deception, read by Nathaniel Parker, written by Eoin Colfer

My mother took me to Joan fabrics today… I tried to resist, but I ended up buying two skeins Joan Sensations Beautiful in eggplant. I plan to make a very wide scarf out of it… Should be done in a week or so if I don’t get distracted. Just in time for fall. I think I’ll keep this one, but if I don’t like it I can always sell it…

School starts next week. I really don’t want to go, but I suppose it is necessary.

I have started knitting the Mermaid’s mesh tunic. Hopefully I should finish it in a few months.

My science teacher lets me knit in his class, as does my drama teacher and my English teacher.

I absolutely adore this pattern. It’s so pretty!
Mermaid Mesh Tunic

It’s supposed to be made in off-white cotton. I am not doing it in the said off-white cotton. I’m doing it in a lovely black acrylic, which is about all I can afford.

The link to the pattern is here: http://www.interweave.com/knit/TSC/mermaid_maid.asp

As if I need something new to do… I’ve decided to keep a blog. Maybe one day I’ll look back at this and laugh, but for the time being this shall be my venting place.

Note that I will be ranting about tons of things on here. You have been warned.

Me

If you've ever read the book Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, then you have a pretty good idea of me. I am a carbon copy of the character Isabella (Bella) Swan except for two things: I actually exist, while she does not, and I love cold whether while she does not. Other than that the parallels are exact. Oh, and I don't live in Washington.
